Opening the macOS beta (not yet signed)
The macOS beta builds are for Apple Silicon (M1 or later) only. They are not signed or notarized yet, so macOS blocks the first launch. To open an app:
- Open the .dmg and drag the app to Applications.
- Open the app once. macOS stops it.
- Open System Settings, then Privacy & Security, and click Open Anyway.
- If macOS says the app is damaged and can’t be opened, run this in Terminal, then open the app again:
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Post.app" xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Flock.app" xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Loft.app" xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Migrate.app" xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Pidgeon.app"
Verify your download
Recompute the SHA-256 of the file you downloaded and compare it to the checksum on the button. If they do not match, the download is corrupt or tampered and must not be run.
# macOS / Linux shasum -a 256 <downloaded-file> # Windows (PowerShell) Get-FileHash <downloaded-file> -Algorithm SHA256
CLI archives
Version 0.2.0-beta.1. Extract the archive and put pidgeon on your PATH. The CLI runs locally on your machine.
The CLI
One binary for terminals and pipelines. Free, with an MPL 2.0 licensed core. The CLI and the optional MCP server (an npm package) run locally on your machine. Get the archive for your platform from the list above.
$ pidgeon generate ADT^A01 --count 10
$ pidgeon validate --file message.hl7
Do I need an account?
Not for Post, Conform, or the CLI. Flock, Loft, and Migrate need a free Pidgeon account.
Does it work offline?
Post and the CLI work with no internet. Flock, Loft, and Migrate need internet to sign in. The local AI model downloads once, the first time you use it.
What leaves my machine?
Your messages and records stay on your machine. The apps contact our account service to sign in. If you connect your own AI provider, what you send it goes to that provider.
The Security page has the details.
System requirements
200 MB disk space · 4 GB RAM recommended
No separate runtime needed.
The optional local AI model downloads on first use and needs a few more GB.
